Vessel Re-Naming Ceremony

Despite the late notice, several of our friends came to Agave's renaming ceremony: Alejandra, Pedro, & Annie, Diana & Lucas, Monica, Lucie, Mehmet, Arman & Dilara, and Rodrigo whom we chose as the master of ceremony.  And what a choice it was: he rendered the invocation with verve and vitality!  Gracias, Rodrigo!
Libation and ceremonial rituals

Extract: "In return for this, we rededicate this vessel to thy domain in full knowledge that she shall be subject as always to the immutable laws of the Gods of wind and sea. [...] we [...] implore you in your graciousness to take unto your records and recollection this worthy vessel hereafter and for all time known as Agave, guarding her with your mighty arm and trident and ensuring her of safe and rapid passage throughout her journeys within your realm".

Pouring wine from West to East to Neptune and Aelus for their blessings. "Oh mighty rulers of the winds,  through whose power our frail vessels traverse the wild and faceless deep, we implore you to grant this worthy vessel Agave the benefits and pleasures of your bounty, ensuring us of your gentle ministration according to our needs."

To Great Boreas and Zephyrus exalted rulers of the North and West...

... Eurus, and Notus, exalted rulers of the East and South
"...grant us permission to use your mighty powers in the pursuit of our lawful endeavors, ever sparing us the overwhelming scourge of your mighty breath."

To Neptune
"Let it be recorded, that on this day June 16th, 2013 and forever more, this fine vessel is named 'Agave'. I name this ship 'Agave.  May God bless her and all who sail in her."

We cracked the bottle of champagne on the boat... and the Gods got a bonus offering -- human blood as libation: Avi cut his hands, and a piece of glass cut Annie's foot  Blood was spilled on the bow!

Thank you to all!
