Could not wait to reach St Croix. Christiansted has plenty of Danish architecture left (the Virgin Islands were Danish before they were bought over by the US in 1917) which makes the town very quaint.
We anchored right outside for 5 nights. Spent some time at a beach on Protestant Cay.
Then we went to Buck Island Reef - a must see submerged land and coral reef system. Off the east end of the island, a snorkel trail (!) with underwater signs meanders through coral grottoes out to the forereef.
To get there, we had to go via dinghy from the western anchorage area. The ride was
rough with head-on waves which soaked us completely, put 6 inches of
water in the dinghy, and led poor Kehan close to hypothermia.

Before heading out to the eastern end, we enjoyed the morning on the beach on the western end of the island:
Next we will head out to St Lucia - a 3-day passage (4 at most). Departure day planned for Sunday morning. We love the little marina we found next to Buck Island, Green Cay Marina. Hope to come back here late spring on our way back up the Caribbean.
